HP Envy 6555e All-in-One Printer

The error message "wifi not configured or connected"  from the printer prompted me to contact my ISP, Spectrum. Their technician found no  problem with WiFi. HP online support could not resolve the issue. Has anyone here had a similar problem?

Thanks for your help,

Fredfrog

Hi @fredfrog2019

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

Not to worry, I'll do my best to reconnect the printer to your wireless network.

Let us try to restore the printer to the default network settings, and then use HP Smart App from your mobile device to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 1:

Restore network default settings on the printer, to do that -  Press and hold the Wireless button on the back of the printer for five seconds or until the Status light flashes (blue or purple depending on the model).

Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for additional information.

Step 2:

Uninstall and re-install the HP Smart app on your mobile device.

Place the printer and the mobile device near the Wi-Fi router.

Turn on Wi-Fi on your mobile device and connect to your network.

Enable Bluetooth on the mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

After installing HP Smart for iOS and Android, enable the mobile device location service and allow the app to use your location to detect the printer and offer solutions during setup.

In HP Smart, click Add Printer or the plus sign to search for the printer, and then follow the instructions to complete the setup.

You may also try the WPS method, if the above steps did not help.

Let us use the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button on your router to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Place the printer near the Wi-Fi router.

Put the printer in WPS connection mode.

To do that > Follow the Step 1:

Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS button  on the router until the connection process begins.

Wait for the Wireless light or bar on the printer to stop flashing. The printer is now connected to the network.

Hi Vince,

Between the time of my first message and now I've returned the 6555E and purchased an HP ENVY INSPIRE 7955e. I'm having the same problem with it. I going to use the same instructions that you provided for the 6555e. If that solves the problem, hallelujah! If not, I'll be able to provide my findings on the correct device.

   So long for now.
