On duplex printing I need to extend the drying time between back side and front side printing. The HP8210 doesn't wait long enough before flipping the page. Ink is smeared on the back page. There is not adjustment possible in the setup. Thanks!

Have you tried setting the Type as Plain Paper and the Quality as Best as listed by the Media instructions on its packaging?
You should change the type and under Printer Preferences from your computer, but be sure to select Best Quality too from your print driver.
Also access the EWS page of your printer, select Settings and there Paper Settings and ensure that the printer is set to Plain Paper too.

I tried every paper-setting for thick, thin light or heavy paper. In Duplex mode the printer is just not waiting for drying. I recorded a short video. Please see for yourself:

And this is the result on the back side (foto):

Of course, I have the latest firmware and tried switching on and off the printer. It's a brand new device that has this bug right out of the box. But it seems to be just a software-problem.
Thanks!

I tried every paper setting light, heavy, medium. But in duplex mode, the HP 8210 is just not waiting for ink drying. I've made a short video. Please see for yourself:

And this is the result on the Backside (foto):

Of course I have the latest firmware and tried to switch the printer on and off, disconnect the power. This is a brand new device and the problem is there from the beginning.
Thanks!

Thanks for the help. I forgot to mention that I had already tried it, and it smears a little bit less. But I'won't consider this a solution. I've bought a fast printer that I can only use in slow motion (=quiet mode).
Is there no way to configure the ink-drying time when printing in duplex mode?
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

What exact media type are you using @JoergHeuer ?
Duplex printing is supported on Plain Paper only, not on Photo Paper for example
Regardless, most Photo Papers are not printable on both sides but have only a single printable area.
I suggest clarifying your media information, it have much affect in here too.

I'm using this paper:
The drying time on duplex printing seems to be ok (about 5-10 seconds), when I'm selecting "HP premium presentation 120g paper" in the printer settings with this paper. But this slowes down printing very much and consumes a lot of ink.
There seems to be no drying time at all, when selecting "normal paper".
Thanks for your suggestions

In german we don't have this options, but If I choose "Präsentation", there is a significant drying time, which seems to be ok. If I'm using the upper 2 options in the "Druckqualität"-selection box, there is no more than 1-2 seconds drying time. Very tight timing and no way to select my own drying time on duplex printing. That shoud be changed.
But anyway, I appreciate your help and this solution works for me. Thanks and Happy Holidays.
