I searched the internet and several phone numbers came up, which sounded like a boiler room overseas. The phone numbers are [content removed], [content removed],. After speaking to a "customer service rep" who told me that he needed access to my computer, he then had me go into what was a Team Viewer website (what???!!!), which I then immediately told him to get off my computer. He identified himself as ADS (?) Software Help and that his company supports several companies. He did get off my PC and he hung up. A few minutes later I received a call from the same company to call the following numbers for help: [content removed],. The first number went straight to voice mail, and I didn't leave a message, but I did get 13 call backs from this number.
I finally got the correct HP phone number from pissed off website. This is not good business for HP when the consumer is lead down a slippery path when all they need is help.
My PC was new and I was having major trouble staying connected to the wifi.
I only posted the phone numbers so no one would call them, but it seems HP removed them.

Fake phone numbers are not HP's fault and they do all they can to track down businesses like this. HP is well aware of the problem but as you know, the internet can be a wild west and as soon as you shut down one website, two more are put up trying to defraud customers. Sounds like you were wise enough to realize the scam and avoid giving them any money. Many have not been as fortunate.
I am a volunteer, offering my knowledge to support fellow users, I do not work for HP nor speak for HP.

The numbers that I posted are FAKE NUMBERS - DO NOT CALL THEM. I only posted the numbers so that this community and others would not call them.
HP needs to provide their customer support phone numbers on the internet in a more transparent way. I finally got the correct phone number from a pissed off consumer website. I finally got my wifi to remain steadily connected to the internet, and it was not a solution that HP was able to resolve, although the representative was very helpful. I was told by my son to uncheck the sleep mode box and we installed a Realtek wifi antenna.
I will give you kudos and I would appreciate your giving my post kudos as well, as my post will help resolve other consumers who have spotty wifi issues with their new HP product as well as a BEWARE of scammers.
