I AM FIRST TIME SETTING UP MY HP 6500 PRINTER TO MY WINDOWS 10. I BOUGHT THE PRINTER SOME YEARS AGO AND HAD NEVER SET IT UP UNTILL TODAY. I SEE ON THE DISPLAY WINDOW OF PRINTER LIKE A BARCODE AND NOT SURE IF BROKEN OR IF THAT IS NORMAL . I CAN BARELY SEE THE MESSAGE BUT SOMETHING ABOUT IT SAYING IT IS MISSING SOMETHING. THAT IS FIRST ISSUE . THE SECOND ISSUE IS THAT PRINTER I GUESS IS TOO OLD FOR MY COMPUTER WINDOWS 10. SO I NEED A DRIVER? I TRIED TO INSTALL DISK INFO AND I TRIED TO DOWNLOAD A DRIVER BUT SAD TO SAY I DONT KNOW QUITE WHAT I AM DOING AND IT IS NOT WORKING. I ACTUALLY NEED SOMEONE TO WALK ME THRU IT TO SET UP IF POSSIABLE. AND TO FIX THAT BARCODE THAT APPEARS ON PRINTER DISPLAY WINDOW WITH MISSING WORDS. THANK YOU

@GOODKITTY123, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
The drivers for the printer to work on a Win 10 PC is available on the HP Support site. However, we will have to resolve the screen issue first.
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Make sure all 4 ink cartridges are installed in the printer.
Check the printer screen if the display is proper. If its broken, this is a hardware issue with the printer. Still, you may use a USB cable to connect the printer and the computer to print.
Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: Connect the printer only when the software prompts.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
