Factory reset HP Photosmart 6520 without touchscreen

How do I factory reset my Photosmart 6520 WITHOUT the touch screen?  

My printer is displaying an "Ink Cartridge Access Door is Open" error even when the door is shut and unobstructed (I think the sensor may have broken).  I'd like to factory reset the printer before disposing of it, but I am unable to access any of the menus on the touchscreen. There is no way to dismiss the error or access the menu currently on the screen.
