DeskJet 2630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've just recently bought a reconditioned black ink cartridge to go in my HP DeskJet 2630 and obviously the printer has thrown a hissy fit about it. I've then gone in to the EWS to allow reconditioned cartridges and there's a password on there that I don't know! I've tried all the button presses, holding down power and cancel, wireless button and power, etc. etc. and none of it has allowed me to get access to the EWS. So now for the nuclear option of which I can find no information on whatsoever: how do I reset my printer back to factory settings? Hoping that will get rid of the pesky EWS password issue and some other printing oddities I get from time to time

Not looking for how to soft reset or whatever; I want a complete hard reset, wipe all the data on there. TIA

@Bethan5, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are not able to make changes to the settings on the printer. We need to perform a factory reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
