Hi @Geoff240,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To factory reset your HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 without the admin password, follow these steps.

Restore via the Printer Control Panel:

  • On the printer's home screen, swipe down to open the Dashboard.
  • Tap the Settings icon (gear icon).
  • Scroll and select Printer Maintenance or Restore Settings.
  • Choose Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Confirm the reset when prompted. The printer will restart and reset to factory settings.

Use the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS): If you cannot access the admin settings from the control panel:

  • Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer to obtain its IP address:
    • From the home screen, swipe down to open the Dashboard.
    • Tap the Wi-Fi icon, then select Print Info.
  • Enter the printer's IP address into your web browser to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Go to the Settings tab, then click Restore Factory Defaults under Printer Maintenance.

If the admin password prevents access: You may need to perform an NVRAM reset, which clears all stored data including passwords.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
