I recently bought a used HP officejet Pro 6978 printer. It worked fine but during settup I realized I was unable to fax or scan and that the ability had been locked by the administrator. I ran through a number of trouble shooting steps but was unable to unlock it without being the owner/administrator account to the device. I then attempted to factory reset the printer in order to set it up as my own but that function is also locked on the printer. I searched the web plenty but could not find out if there is a manual way to factory reset the device. I called HP support number twice and both times after being put on hold the calls ended and a return call was never made. I am wondering if anybody knows of a way to reset this printer so I can do the settup process on my own.
Thank you!

Hi @Jdawgisplaying,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
You need to use the touchscreen to perform a SemiFull reset on your printer to fix the issue.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps! keep me posted.
