Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good Morning/Afternoon,

I purchased a new HP DeskJet 2723e on May 8th and this printer has a couple of promotions: 6 months of free Instant Ink promocode and a cashback, both to be redeemed within 7 days from the purchase.

I did the printer configuration using the Wireless connection by connecting the printer to my Wifi connection and it seems connected (according to the HP Smart App -downloaded on both my computer - Windows 10 64bit - and on my mobile - Android 14) )
However, when i wanted to register to Instant Ink and following the procedures on the app (it recognized the printer, i selected the plan i wanted ,redeemed the included period of free charges and given my info)

In the end it gives this same Error Code: UA_400_EB000U0004 - stating that this printer is associated on an another account.
I do have a HP account (but it says "Standard") but this printer isn't listed at all - and it doesn't allow me to change into a "HP +" account in order to do the redemption for the said services mentioned above.

I searched for the similar problem on this community and tried some possible troubleshooting several times but nothing has changed.

Could you please help me with this? Thank you so much in advance!

Hi @CO_OC,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing an issue with enrolling in the Instant ink service for your printer.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware.

C) Now refer to the steps on this link to enroll again and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day
