HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e Wide Format All-in-One Printer

I am trying to setup a brand new HP Officejet Pro 9730e and I keep getting a paper jam error message. I was in the second step of setup and there was no paper in the printer so there couldn't be a jam. It seems that the ink tray is stuck and won't move and I think that's what is triggering the Paper Jam message. Can anyone help me resolve this issue? Thanks!

Thanks so much for your response. None of the videos addressed my challenge. It's a brand new 9730e and I just took it out of the box to set up. Right after I selected the language, I got a Paper Jam error message that said to clear the paper (never put paper in the printer) and to check to make sure the drawers were installed correctly (which I did).  I think the problem lies with the ink carriage. It won't move left or right (it's stuck in the right position) and when the printer tries to go through it's process the carriage is stuck and the printer is assuming it's a paper jam.  I've opened and closed every drawer and door and have reset the printer several times but nothing is helping.

All I can think of is to recommend watching an unboxing video and make sure you remove all the plastic and tape on the packing material.

 

Check the ink cartridges to make sure nothing's blocking the copper strips.  If the printer doesn't contact the coppers strip it cannot communicate with the chip inside the cartridge.

 

It is also possible the printer was damaged during shipment by being dropped but you should see some damage to the cardboard box.
