I have bought and installed above printer recently. I was getting the message that firmware requires update but always fails.

I tried to download the file from HP.Support Page. Run it and for 20 minutes it is trying to connect to download link

If you are experiencing issues with updating the firmware of your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e Wide Format All-in-One Printer, follow these steps to troubleshoot:

Ensure Stable Internet Connection:

  • Make sure your internet connection is stable and fast enough to download the firmware update.

Temporarily Disable Firewall:

  • Sometimes, a firewall or antivirus software can block the download. Temporarily disable it and try updating the firmware again.

Download the Firmware Manually:

Run the Firmware Update Tool:

  • After downloading the firmware update tool, run it on your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Ensure the printer is connected to your computer via USB for a stable connection during the update.

Use HP Smart App:

  • If the manual process fails, try using the HP Smart app. The app can help detect and install necessary updates.
  • Download HP Smart.

Check Printer's Network Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same network as your computer. A poor network connection can cause update failures.

Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Sometimes a simple restart of both your printer and computer can resolve connectivity issues.
