I received an email a few weeks ago from HP telling me to update my firmware before 14th November or I would not be able to use HP Instant Ink and some printer features. I have tried everything from updating from the printer, the computer, resetting the printer, reconnecting to WiFi, everything I could think of, but the update still isn’t successful.

 

I have also tried contacting HP several times on Twitter, with no response, and tried the virtual agent which was no help either. The phone line is fee based, so that’s the last thing I want to use. I must say that overall, HPs customer service has been absolutely abysmal, but I am hoping that as a last resort this forum will be able to help.

 

How on Earth do I update my firmware when the updates constantly fail and HP give no response?

Do you get any errors while trying to update the printer firmware?

 

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Print a printer status report to check the firmware version installed on the printer

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

  2. Touch Tools.

  3. Swipe up on the display, and then touch Print Status Reports.

The latest version available is 2023B. If the printer is up to date, you need not worry, the Instant Ink account will not be affected.

the November  14 firmware update deadline is looming and I am unable to update.  I have tried using HP support 3xs with no results. I have requested a telephone  number to call but the virual agent doesn't understand my request?  I feel like I have fallen into a rabbit hole.

Did you check what firmware is installed on the printer? If it is up to date, you do not have to worry. The Instant Ink account will not be affected.

I am having the same problem - been trying to update the firmware since I go the first email.

 

The download works fine, tells me it is installing and when the printer restarts informs me that the update failed......I have uninstalled and reinstalled, had the cables out, factory reset, and the next step might be printer through window as I have sat waiting on hold for half an hour to speak to someone.

 

My wifi is connected my web print is working, my details on my instant ink account are up to date and I am recognised - so where from here.....

 

The firmware version on the printout is CFP1FN1515AR

I have now tried going through the HP website and installing from there and get error code OX83C0002B NOS_LOADER_APP

The latest version available is 2023B released on Jul 22, 2020

Hello

Yes I have tried all three methods.

 

Install from printer which appears to be successful until it restarts and tells me it wasn't.

The same installing from the Smart App

Installing from the website says it is successful but on restart goes to Error Code OX83C0002B NOS_LOADER_APP

 

My version is the 2015-04-09 one.

I use this printer daily  so I hope it can be sorted before the 14th or I don't know what to do ink wise as my Instant Ink account will be closed.

 

I would create a case but the customer service website support.hp.com is only for business customers.

Seems there is no way for me to create a case
