any satisfaction?  There are so many posts about other printers having this identical problem, I don't buy that the statement that this did not affect other models.   I am in the identical situation you described, but with an Officejet Pro 8500

brand new HP cartridge did not fix the problem.

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting issues while using HP Officejet Pro 8500  printer. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

Are you using a genuine HP Ink cartridge?

Are you getting any error message on the printer?

Meanwhile:

Using third party ink cartridges are not recommended.

HP Printers are not tested with the third party cartridges and best print quality can not be guaranteed.

Reply with the result of the above-mentioned steps, for further assistance.

Cheers.

Thanks for your offer of help, but after weeks without a printer, it is once again working.

I was using an HP cartridge that was refilled ( for both environmental and cost reasons).  It worked fine, until it did not. i got an error message:  "Defective cartridge" if you read my post, you will see I stated this in all of them.

I then bought a brand new HP cartridge, which was rejected at least 20 times.   Finally, after trying all the suggestions on this forum and elsewhere  I once again cleaned all the contact points for cartridges and printer heads, and it still didn't work.  I then removed it, jammed it into the printer,  and twisted in place a bit, and now it is finally working.  We will see how long that lasts.

Now I just have to find out why only cyan and black seem to be printing, even though my printer says the printer heads are

fine.  Perhaps the ink is old or expired in the current cartridges.  I ordered new HP color cartridges, and hope I have better luck with them.

I appreciate your time and effort.

Replacing the cartridge is the correct decision you made to fix the print quality issue.

Feel free to contact us in feature if you need any assistance in the feature.
