Hello, my printer informs me to update my firmware.   The download counts up to 100% then reports back with the message “Download Unsuccessful : The printer update could not be downloaded.” It requests I hit the retry button, which i have done a few times, but always the same result.  I have also rebooted the  both the printer and the PC, however to no avail.  Any suggestions, please?

Are you sure you need a FW update?

The latest FW update for these two printers OfficeJet Pro 8024 und OfficeJet Pro 8024e  was released on Nov 15, 2022, with Version: 001.2243A.

 

Please check the FW version on your printer.

If your firmware is up to date, then disable the automatic update on a printer.

 

If not, download the FW versions from here:

8024-  HP OfficeJet 8020/OfficeJet Pro 8020/OfficeJet Pro 8030 All-in-One Printer series Firmware Update 

and for

8024e-  HP OfficeJet 8020e/OfficeJet Pro 8020e/OfficeJet Pro 8030e All-in-One Printer series Firmware Update 

Recommendation: use a USB connection.

Please check the FW version on your printer.

If your firmware is up to date, then disable the automatic update on a printer.

 

If not, download the FW versions from here:

8024-  HP OfficeJet 8020/OfficeJet Pro 8020/OfficeJet Pro 8030 All-in-One Printer series Firmware Update 

and for

8024e-  HP OfficeJet 8020e/OfficeJet Pro 8020e/OfficeJet Pro 8030e All-in-One Printer series Firmware Update

Thank you for your quick reply which was helpful. I checked the printer information and the firmware already installed was the latest version.  I don't know why it was trying to download and install it again, however I have cancelled the request.
