HP ENVY 5530
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

I'm trying to update my printer's firmware with the "EN5530_R1828B.exe" file, but when I run the program it's not even finding my HP ENVY 5530 printer (USB connected). The previous file "EN5530_R1547A.exe" worked when the "EN5530_Basicx64_198.exe" HP driver was installed, but now, with the Windows 10 driver, it isn't working too.

Do I have to install the HP driver for them to work? Has anyone had the same problem? How to fix it?

Thanks.

May I know why are you updating the Firmware? Are you having problems with the printer?

Try updating the Firmware directly from the Printer

Select the Setup, Service, or Settings menu ( The Menu Option varied for each printer ) >  Select Preferences, Printer Maintenance, or Tools  > then select Web Services, Printer Update

You can refer to this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-amp-printer-series/15304500/document/c02919168

Hello, KrazyToad

First of all, thanks for your attention.

My printer is working fine. The only reason I'm trying to update the firmware is for security reasons. About updating directly through the printer, I don't have this option in the menu, probably because it is USB connected (not wireless).

Best regards.

To update the Firmware directly form the Printer's control panel. the Printer needs to be connected either Wirelessly or through the Ethernet cable if the printer supports Ethernet connection

Thank you

Thank you, KrazyToad, but I don't want to connect my printer via Ethernet or wirelessly just so I can update it's firmware. It is working fine thru it's USB connection.

What I need is HP Support to correct the "EN5530_R1828B.exe" program, so I can update my printer's firmware via USB.

Best regards.

If the printer is working fine, then it is not mandatory to update the Firmware. But I passed your Feedback to the concerned team and they will work on it. If any more information is required, I will get back to you.

Thank you
