Firmware update for Office Jet Pro 8610

The class action lawsuit indicated the HP was offering an update to their firmware that removed the Dynamic Security technology that kept people from using non HP ink cartridges. When I downloaded the DMG and opened it (it is the correct one for the Mac) it said this firmware updater does not contain upgrades for your device. I can't figure out if my printer doesn't need it because the Dynamic Security is not present or if I need a different updater that does contain an upgrade to remove the Dynamic Security.

Firmware version 1828A available here removes the Dynamic Security Feature from HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer. Try updating the firmware available on that link. If the firmware updater does not show any new updates available for your printer, then its possible that the printer is already running on the latest firmware.
