Printer 3830
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

While setting up the updated software for my printer I was forced to accept the opt in options. If I customized any of the 3 opt in selections setup would not continue. How can i opt out?

one was to allow data to be sent for analytics.
one was to allow receiving advertising.

one was to allow suggestions for products to buy based on my printer usage and suggestions for products to be built for me.

I want to opt out of the last 2 items as I do not object to my usage information being shared with HP.

please advise me how to find the option to opt out of those forced upon me items

Hi @Jedab,

I'd like to help!

I understand you would like to turn off the printer notifications.

Follow these steps to enable or disable notifications from the Device Settings tab:

  1. Open the Devices and Printers
folder, right-click the HP UPD, and then select Properties.
  2. Click the Device Settings tab.

  3. In the Installable Options section, set Printer Status Notification to either Enable or Disable.

  4. Click OK.

Figure : Enable or disable Printer Status Notifications

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
