Hi, I forgot the password for my printer hp envy pro 6400, I'd like to reset the password or to reset the entire printer if I don't succeed in the first option.

My printer is not connected to wifi, I only connected it to my PC through a USB cable. To connect it to wifi I need before to reset the password.

Please help me.

I guess so, I mean is the password you need to access the advanced tools, for example, if you want to change the wifi connection, or generally, if want to change anything it asks you for the password.

I understand that you want to reset the EWS password, I am glad to assist you.

 

Resetting the printer's network settings to its factory default settings erases the embedded Web server (EWS) administrator password.

Follow these steps to reset the printer to the factory default settings:-

On the back of the printer, press and hold the Wireless button for at least three second

 

Login to the EWS page with the default credentials and change the password.

Username: admin

Password: "leave it blank"

I entered the EWS from the smart app on my PC but is always the same problem, it only asks me for the password, and I can not do anything else. So I guess your method doesn't work.
