We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If you have forgotten the password for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M226dw, you will need to perform a factory reset to restore the default settings, including the password. Here are the steps you can follow:
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Wait for about 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
Access the Service Menu:
- Turn the printer off, then press and hold the "Enter" button.
- While holding the "Enter" button, turn the printer on.
- Keep holding the "Enter" button until the display reads "Permanent Storage Init." This process will remove all stored configurations on the printer, including the password.
Reconfigure the Printer Settings:
- After the printer resets, it will restart and you will need to reconfigure your settings, such as network configurations and other custom setups.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
