Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is there anyway to contact HP, and get some basic information, without having to purchase a support contract.

I have an 8015e printer. I just want to know if there is anyway to use 3rd party ink cartridges as the instant ink option was very expensive (it seriously over stated the number of pages printed) and buying official HP cartridges is just to expensive. The printer is 15 months old, but is just about to be thrown away because it is too expensive to run. I've always had HP printers in the past (this is my 5th), but this will be my last.

Thanks for all of the information. It is very informative. It appears to indicate that it should be possible to use 3rd party cartridges, but the printer rejects them.

So I think I'm just stuck with throwing it away.

You are welcome.

Perhaps consider donating the printer instead of dumping it.

Yes, of course -- you must do what is right for your situation.
