Hi @Fred7715

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining everything so clearly—it’s genuinely frustrating when everything’s plugged in and powered up, yet the printer still insists it’s not connected.

Let’s try a few steps to get your HP Officejet 5610V talking to your Windows 11 system again. 🖨🔧

🧪 Step 1: Confirm Compatibility

This model doesn’t have dedicated Windows 11 drivers, but Windows might still support it using built-in or legacy drivers. You can check the official driver page here:

🔄 Step 2: Remove and Reinstall the Printer

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Select your HP printer and click Remove.
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Reconnect the printer via USB and let Windows detect it again.

🧰 Step 3: Use Device Manager to Update Driver

  1. Press Windows + X and choose Device Manager.
  2. Expand Print queues or Other devices.
  3. Right-click your printer and choose Update driver.
  4. Select Search automatically for drivers.

If that doesn’t work, try manually installing from the HP driver page above.

🧼 Step 4: Reset the Printer Spooler Service

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  2. Find Print Spooler, right-click it, and choose Restart.

🧠 Step 5:  Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

  • In the HP Smart app, click Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Let it run a scan—it will automatically fix common connection issues.
You can also access this tool on HP’s support page if needed.

🧪 Bonus Tip: Try a Different USB Port or Cable

Even if the cable looks fine, switching to another USB port or using a different cable can sometimes do the trick.

Let me know how it goes—whether it starts printing or still gives you the cold shoulder. We’ll keep pushing until it’s sorted! 💪😊
