Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Officejet 5740 that was working fine on my HP Laptop running Windows 10 home - 64bit OS.  I changed my computer to a desktop one that was built but running Windows home - 64 bit OS.  when i moved over the printer over, i had to set it up and downloaded the files.  printing seems to work fine.  However I cannot get the unit to scan.  When I had this problem before on the HP Laptop, i had to install the Hp Scan Extended software.  I did so and installed it but now getting the error that the HP Imaging Device was not found.  Any suggestions?

Hi,

Please download and install the latest printer drivers below, complete the installation and follow the steps to connect the printer, then both HP Scan or HP Scan Extended should work, HP Scan Extended cannot be used by itself as it relies on the HP driver for your printer:
