Hi @odariganga

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Connecting your HP printer to a Chromebook 3100 is refreshingly simple—no driver downloads or tech wizardry required.

Here's how to get it printing in no time:

Step-by-Step: Connect HP Printer to Chromebook 3100

Option 1: Wi-Fi Connection

If your HP printer supports wireless printing:

Connect the printer to Wi-Fi

  • For touchscreen models:
Go to Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard, then select your Wi-Fi and enter the password.
  • For button-only models:
Press and hold the Wireless button until the light blinks, then press the WPS button on your router.

Add the printer to your Chromebook

  • Click the clock in the bottom-right corner > Settings
  • Scroll to Advanced > Printing > Printers
  • Click Add Printer
  • Select your HP printer from the list and click Add

Option 2: USB Connection

If your printer doesn’t support Wi-Fi:

  1. Plug the printer into your Chromebook using a USB cable.
  2. Chromebook will auto-detect and install the printer.
  3. Go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers to confirm it’s added.

Use the HP Smart App

For HP+ printers or advanced features like scanning and ink monitoring:

  • Install the HP Smart app from the Google Play Store on your Chromebook.
  • Follow the prompts to activate features and manage your printer remotely.

Let me know your printer model and connection type (Wi-Fi or USB), and I can walk you through the exact steps or troubleshoot if it’s being stubborn.
