Two common causes

1. Windows has automatically installed a Microsoft IPP driver which does not support color.

To check this, on your PC go to control panel, right click devices and printers and select open. Right click on the icon for your printer and select printer properties. Click the advanced tab and see what driver is being used. The correct driver may be listed if you click the down arrow next to the driver name and you can select it.

2. Driver failed to detect that device had color abilities. Follow steps in number one but click on device settings tab and scroll down to device type and change it to color from monochrome or auto select.
