Hello, I can't find a way to install my old HP Deskjet 1280 on the new pc that works with WIN 10 64 bit.
I have already tried several times with the solution of an old topic (installing manually, Windows Update...) but I can't find Deskjet 1220 neither in the new list (only 1110 and then 2130).
Please, is there any other solution?
Thank you

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I checked and see that there are no drivers available for Windows for this computer. However, I recommend you try installing the Windows built-in drivers following the steps in the below article.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01796879
If you continue facing the issue, I recommend you run the HP print and scan doctor and check if it helps.
Please download and run the HP Print And Scan Doctor from this Link: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe
Run PSDR v5.0.2
Once the PSDR detects the Printer, it will show up the IP address and Software Status.
Select the correct Printer and click on Next.
PSDR will check if the Printer is on the Network and communication between the PC and the Printer. Once the connection check is done, click on Fix Printing
Once PSDR goes through all checks and automatic fixes, click on Print a test page.
Regardless if PSDR printed the test page or not, click on “NO PRINT”
PSDR will then notify you that there is an update available, click on continue, and PSDR will apply the patch and ask for a reboot.
Post restart the PSDR will run automatically to check for more issue. If no issue found close PSDR.
Also, try using the HP Smart App and let me know if that helps. Link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/hp-smart/9wzdncrfhwlh
You can refer to this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04675142 for more information on HP Smart App
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi
Thank you very much for all these informations, but unfortunately it doesn't work...
The first solution (built in drivers) can't find the alternative printer (1220c).
The second solution (doctor) can see the printer, but it tells me that I need to download the installer. It goes to the HP website, but there is no driver, just the Doctor exe again.
The third solution (HP smart) can't see the printer at all...

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.
-
Make sure that the USB cable is not connected to the printer. If the USB cable is connected to the printer, disconnect it.
-
Make sure the computer is connected to the Internet.
-
Right-click the Start button (
) in the lower left corner of the screen, click Search, and then type Devices and Printers.
-
Click Devices and Printers.
-
Click Add a printer. The Add Printer window opens.
-
Click The printer that I want isn't listed.
-
Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings, and then click Next.
-
Select Use an existing port, and then click the Use an existing port drop-down list, select LPT1: (Printer Port). Click Next.
-
Click the Windows Update button to see the HP Deskjet 5550 print driver. This might take a few minutes.
-
Under Manufacturer in the Install the printer driver window, click HP.
-
Under Printers, select HP Deskjet 5550 as the alternate driver for your printer, and then click Next.
-
In the Printer name text box, the printer's name displays. Click Next. The print driver starts the installation process. When the installation is complete, a message displays on the computer stating that the printer was added successfully.
-
Click the box to Set as the default printer, and then click Finish.
-
Connect the USB cable to the printer, and connect the USB cable to the computer. A Device driver software was not successfully installed window opens.
-
Click Close to close the window.
Step 2: Configure the driver
Configure the installed driver by changing the port from parallel to a DOT4 port.
-
In the Devices and Printers window, right-click the name of the printer and then click Printer Properties.
The Printer Properties window opens.
-
Click the Ports tab.
-
Click the drop down menu, and then change the port from LPT1 to USB or DOT4. If there is more than one USB/DOT4 port available, select the USB/DOT4 port with the highest port number.
NOTE:
To see the full port name, widen the ports row in the Properties dialog box by placing the cursor over the vertical line between Port and Description, and then click and hold the mouse button. Move the mouse to the right until the port name is visible.
-
Click OK.
Step 3: Print a test page
Confirm that the basic print driver works by printing a test page.
-
Right-click the Start button (
) in the lower left corner of the screen, click Search, and then type Devices and Printers.
-
Click Devices and Printers.
-
Right-click on the newly added print driver, HP Deskjet 5550, and then click Printer Properties.
-
From the General tab, click Print Test Page.
-
If the page prints, you can use the basic print driver to print. Other functions, such as scanning and advanced printing options may not be supported.
-
If the page does not print, your printer might not be compatible with the basic in-OS driver in Windows 10. You can repeat these steps to try the other driver HP Deskjet 990c or replace the printer with a printer that is compatible with Windows 10.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
