@Victor800, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Horizontal Lines on HP Smart Tank 530!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If you're experiencing horizontal lines on your printed or copied documents using the HP Smart Tank 530, it may be due to issues with the ink levels, printheads, or print settings. Here's a step-by-step guide to help resolve the issue:
Step 1: Check Ink Levels and Refill Tanks
Low ink levels can affect print quality:
- Ensure the ink levels in the tanks are adequate. If any tanks are near the minimum fill line, refill them using HP's recommended ink bottles. Avoid overfilling as it can cause leakage.
Step 2: Clean the Printhead
Print quality issues like streaks and incorrect colors can be resolved by cleaning the printhead:
- Use the HP Smart app to perform printhead cleaning:
- Load plain white paper into the tray.
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Navigate to Tools > Print Quality Tools and select Clean Printhead.
Step 3: Check and Adjust Print Settings
Ensure the print settings are optimal:
- Navigate to your printing application, and check settings like color mode, paper type, and quality settings to ensure they match your print job.
Step 4: Print Quality Diagnostic Page
Print a diagnostic page to further evaluate the printhead condition:
- Press and hold the Start Copy Color button for three seconds.
- Examine the diagnostic page for defects like fading or missing colors.
- If defects are observed, follow the next step for printhead alignment.
Step 5: Align the Printhead
Using the HP Smart app, align the printhead:
- Load plain white paper in the tray.
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Go to Tools > Print Quality Tools and select Align Printer.
Step 6: Replace Printheads If Necessary
If cleaning and aligning do not resolve the issue, consider replacing the printheads:
- Open the printer front door and the printhead access door.
- Remove the faulty printhead and install a replacement.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
