Android 9.0 Pie

Hi. I have somewhat strange problem with Wi-Fi Direct. I think it used to work long time ago, but it's not working anymore for last month or even longer. I no longer can print to my HP 107w laser using WiFi Direct - neither from Android 11 and 12 tablets and smartphones nor from Windows 10 laptops (I've tried quite a few, so I don't think version matters really). I've bought another brand's wireless printer and I can print via WiFi Direct just fine. But not on my HP 107w.

Steps/details:

1. I do see printer's WiFi direct SSID (DIRECT-48...) and I can connect to it using password from settings page.

2. However, when I try to perform step that in the manual sounds like "When you have found the printer you want to connect to from your mobile device, select the printer and the printer's LED will blink. Press the Wireless button on the printer and it will be connected to your mobile device.".

2.1 So, I open let's say a document in Adobe Acrobat Reader on my smartphone

2.2 I go to Print and select my HP 107w from the top dropdown as it's shown as "available"

2.3 A pop-up is shown that I may need to confirm connection from my smartphone on a printer's control panel (just like in the manual)

2.4 Printer's LED starts to blink just like in the manual.

2.5 I press the Wireless button as requested in the manual

2.6 The Wireless button stops blinking

2.7 Nothing happens on smartphone side (or in Windows if I try it from my laptops) - it looks like some timeout happens. It never reaches "and it will be connected to your mobile device"

All the necessary prerequisites (like enabling location etc) are fulfilled.

As I said, WiFi direct works just fine from same laptops/smartphones/tablets on my other printer (non-HP).

Please advise what may be the issue.

What else:

I have tried to zero/reset Network settings - it hasn't helped. I couldn't find any factory reset for the model (there are tons of topics about it without any real steps, so I assume it's not possilbe to do a full factory reset to start over).

I don't know what this statement from the manual means - "Make sure there are not more than 5 concurrent Wi-Fi Direct users".
