HP 3330 LaserJet printer cannot find the serial number. Tried all the usual suspects: back, bottom. Found one on the bottom but it was for a 250 sheet paper tray 😢
Want to find info on HP, but w/o the serial number, it's impossible 😢
Would like to get a copy of the owner's manual from HP if possible (after I find the serial number 😣).
Need to align the printheads. Anyone know how? The Menu on the printer does not lead there 😢
Thank you, David 🙁

Hi @NewWorld3,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Finding the serial number on an HP LaserJet printer can be tricky, but I can help guide you through it, as well as provide instructions on aligning the printheads.
Finding the Serial Number
Check the Printer's Settings Menu:
- You can often find the serial number in the printer's onboard menu. Go to the Setup or About section, if available. Look for a Print Configuration Page or Print Settings option, which may include the serial number.
Look for Labels:
- In addition to the back and bottom, check inside the printer door or tray areas. Sometimes the serial number is placed near the cartridge compartment or under any removable parts.
Using Software:
- If you have the printer installed on your computer, you can check the properties from your computer:
- On Windows, go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Printer Properties. Look for a tab or section that might list the serial number.
- On macOS, open System Preferences, then Printers & Scanners. Select your printer, and click Options & Supplies to see if the serial number is displayed.
Aligning Printheads
To align the printheads on an HP LaserJet printer like the 3330, you typically need to follow these steps:
Access the Control Panel:
- Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to your computer.
Print Quality Tools:
- If there is a Print Quality or Tools option in the menu, select it. Look for an option to Align Printheads.
Using HP Printer Software:
- If you can't find the option on the printer menu, you can use the HP software on your computer:
- Open the HP Printer Assistant or HP Smart app.
- Navigate to the Tools or Maintenance section.
- Look for Align Printheads or Printhead Alignment and follow the on-screen instructions.
Getting the Owner's Manual
Once you find the serial number, you can download the owner's manual from HP’s official website:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter the model number (LaserJet 3330) in the search bar.
- Look for the Manuals or User Guides section for downloadable resources.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
