HP DeskJet 4120e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

There is no wireless printing  only USB, so only from one laptop and none from other units (phones etc.)

Printer re-installation via USB reports that the printer did not connect to Wifi.  The configuration page confirms the connection to the same WiFi (a repeater. TP-Link) ) with the same IP address as before.

HP Smart does not see the WiFi connected 4120e.   Pinging the IP gives "Reply from 192.168.1.139: Destination host unreachable." -  so the printer is indeed on the wifi, but does not respond. The firmware update download reports up to date.

That did not work.  The WIFi connection exists.   When I reconnect the printer to WiFI, it show up on mt PC as a WiFi direct printer, when I try to install it as a printer, it prints out a WiFi direct PIN, but refuses connection.  The reply is 'your printer stopped waiting'.   I did this 3 time with the last time only a few seconds entering the PIN.

So this seem to prove that the issue is inside the printer.  this confirm what the 'ping' indicated : the printer is connected and reacts to a ping, just not the way it should
