HP officejet 4500 G510g
Microsoft Windows XP

I have an HP 4500 G510g printer, Windows XP SP 3 OS, during the installation of the OJ4500vG510g-m_Full_13.exe software, in the the configuration phase of the printer, the peripheral is detected but in the 7/8 process the configuration is blocked for a long time and then gives error "impossible to complete the configuration". I uninstalled the software, deleted all the traces of the printer, then I installed the software again but without success. Is it possible to solve the problem? Thank you.

@uraian,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!

Let's try uninstalling the printer and re-installing the printer driver at the root level. This may fix the issue.

Please follow these steps:

1.)In Windows, search for 'Control Panel' and open 'Programs' or 'Programs and features' and select 'Uninstall a Program'.

2.) Select your HP Printer.

3.) Select Uninstall.

4.) In Windows, search for 'Control Panel' and look for 'View devices and printers'option under 'Hardware and Sound'.

5.) In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'.

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab.

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom.

10.) Re-install the printer driver from this link.

Let me know if this helps.
