HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer - G510g

I installed windows 11 and the driver is installed automatically. The Printer is working. The scanner is no more recognized in Windows 11. The HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer (scanner included) is working properly in other OS (like Windows 7/10).

I tried to install the software manually, no success.

Is there any solution?

 

PS my printer has ethernet connection and no WiFi connection. The second one might work. The newer Software supports only wifi connection, I think.

If your HP 4500N scanner is not being recognized on Windows 11, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue. Please follow these suggestions.

 

  • Check the physical connections: Ensure that the scanner is properly connected to your computer. Make sure the USB cable is securely plugged into both the scanner and your computer. If you're using a network-connected scanner, check the network connection.
  • Restart the scanner and computer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off the scanner, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few seconds. Then, restart your computer. Once the computer is back on, reconnect the scanner and see if it is recognized.
  • Update scanner drivers: Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause issues with device recognition. Visit the official HP website and download the latest drivers specifically designed for Windows 11. Install the drivers on your computer and then reconnect the scanner.
  • Verify scanner compatibility: Ensure that your HP 4500N scanner is compatible with Windows 11. Check the manufacturer's website or contact HP support to confirm if there are any known compatibility issues with the scanner and the operating system.
  • Use the Windows troubleshooting tool: Windows 11 includes built-in troubleshooting tools that can help identify and fix common hardware issues. Go to the Windows Settings, click on "System," then select "Troubleshoot" from the left-hand menu. Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Check Device Manager: Open the Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting "Device Manager." Look for any yellow exclamation marks or question marks next to the scanner or any related devices. If you find any, right-click on the device and choose "Update driver" to update the drivers automatically.
  • Try a different USB port or cable: Sometimes, the USB port or cable you're using may be faulty. Try connecting the scanner to a different USB port on your computer and see if it gets recognized. If possible, try using a different USB cable as well.
  • Test the scanner on another computer: To determine if the issue is specific to your computer or the scanner itself, try connecting the scanner to another computer running Windows 11 or a different operating system. If the scanner works on another computer, it indicates that the problem lies with your computer's configuration.

Thank you for your response!

The scanner is working properly on another computer (Windows 7), ethernet cables are ok. The printer is working on windows 11 laptop, there is only no scanner function.

I used HP print and scan doctor
I have to install the full software. The HP support site shows me the following:


"Installing Your Printer Driver Using the Windows Built-in Solution
Install the HP Printer Driver and Software provided within your operating system."


When the printer is automatically installed Using the Windows 11 Built-in Solution, there is no scanner function.
Is there any other place, where I can find this Software?
