I have tried all the suggestions I could find on this and other forums to get my HP OfficeJet 4650 printing in color again. The problem appeared suddenly on my Windows 10 machines. To be clear, the printer itself is fine. It will color copy and print in color from my Linux operating systems. When in Win 10 Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041 all color print options are missing and will only print in black from every application I have tried. This is happening on both my laptops, one MSI and one HP.
I have completely removed the printer, software and drivers and reinstalled them. I have tried the full and basic driver packages. I have hard reset the printer and network. Nothing has helped so far.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the response Sandytechy20.
I have double checked all my firmware and it is up to date. All the software and device drivers are up to date. The color option is still not available.
My MSI laptop suddenly started printing in color again, my HP still only prints black. Not quite sure what to make of this?

This might require remote access of your computer to fix the issue.
I request you to talk to HP support.

Hey Sandytechy20,
Both my HP printer and laptop are a few years old. I just get the following message.
“This product is no longer serviced by HP. You may search for possible solutions on this support website.”
That led me to this forum.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check if that helps.
Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
-
Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
-
If your printer is not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.
-
If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
-
If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
-
If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
-
Try to print.
Cheers.

Hey Sandytechy20,
Thank you for your time and suggestions so far.
HP Print and Scan Doctor did not find anything wrong. However, I did notice that multiple printers are listed. I only have one printer
I'm really thinking this must be a Windows 10 problem. None of the advice in Microsoft support fixed this issue.

Hey Sandytechy20,
I followed all the instructions plus removed all HP printer, scan, and fax instances from device manager. Now there only shows one printer installation. Still not printing in color, no color options. It must be a Win 10 problem.
