OfficeJet 6100
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've uninstalled the OfficeJet 6100 and deleted the drivers directory. When I start Windows, this message is displayed: "There was a problem starting c:\Program Files\HP\HP OfficeJet 6100\bin\HPStatusBL.dll. The specified module could not be found."

Nothing in regedit located this reference. How can I remove this call form the startup?

  • Error message "HP Status BL.dll” – module not found

Printer has been uninstalled / removed – error message persists

Solution provided by  ShlomiL (Paraphrased):

  • Open File Explorer (formally Windows Explorer)
  • Type (copy and paste) into the address bar and press Enter:

%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

  • Delete (drag to Trash) the monitor ink alerts shortcut to the non-existing printer
