If your HP Envy 7155 printer is experiencing issues with the status indicating it is using the wrong port, follow these steps to resolve the problem:
Check the Printer Connection
- Verify USB Connection:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely plugged into the USB port on the back of the printer and the USB port on your computer.
- Network Connection:
- If you are using a network connection, verify that the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Select the Correct Printer Port
- Open Devices and Printers:
- On your computer, go to the Control Panel and select Devices and Printers.
- Locate your Printer:
- Find your HP Envy 7155 printer in the list.
- Printer Properties:
- Right-click on the printer and select Printer Properties.
- Ports Tab:
- Click on the Ports tab.
- Verify Port:
- Ensure the correct port is selected. If you are using a USB connection, the port should indicate USB. If you are using a network connection, ensure your network port is selected.
Update Printer Driver
- Open Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Print Queues:
- Expand the Print Queues category.
- Update Driver:
- Right-click on your HP Envy 7155 printer and select Update Driver. Follow the prompts to update the driver.
