@NAK65, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP 7155 Envy Printer Status Showing "Wrong Port"!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Envy 7155 printer is experiencing issues with the status indicating it is using the wrong port, follow these steps to resolve the problem:

Check the Printer Connection

  1. Verify USB Connection:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely plugged into the USB port on the back of the printer and the USB port on your computer.
  2. Network Connection:
    • If you are using a network connection, verify that the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Select the Correct Printer Port

  1. Open Devices and Printers:
    • On your computer, go to the Control Panel and select Devices and Printers.
  2. Locate your Printer:
    • Find your HP Envy 7155 printer in the list.
  3. Printer Properties:
    • Right-click on the printer and select Printer Properties.
  4. Ports Tab:
    • Click on the Ports tab.
  5. Verify Port:
    • Ensure the correct port is selected. If you are using a USB connection, the port should indicate USB. If you are using a network connection, ensure your network port is selected.

Update Printer Driver

  1. Open Device Manager:
    • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Print Queues:
    • Expand the Print Queues category.
  3. Update Driver:
    • Right-click on your HP Envy 7155 printer and select Update Driver. Follow the prompts to update the driver.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
