Hi @CVS04, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the recommended updates for your HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer are not downloading despite the diagnostics indicating everything is okay, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
Check Internet Connection: Ensure your internet connection is stable and fast enough to download updates.
Manually Update the Printer:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Search for your printer model (HP ENVY Photo 7855).
- Download the latest drivers and firmware updates manually, and install them.
Use HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer.
- Check for updates through the app, as it might be able to download and apply updates more smoothly.
Clear Windows Update Cache:
- Open the Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Type the following commands one by one:
net stop wuauserv
net stop bits - Then go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and delete all the files in the folder.
- Restart the services:
net start wuauserv
net start bits
Update via Device Manager:
- Right-click the Start button and choose Device Manager.
- Expand the Printers section.
- Right-click your printer (HP ENVY Photo 7855) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Check Windows Update Settings:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
- Ensure there are no pending updates for Windows that might affect the printer's compatibility.
Restart the Printer: Power cycle your printer by turning it off and unplugging it for a few minutes, then turning it back on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
