Is there anyway to disable or override the Paper Size setting on the HP 8125e? With other HP printers that I've owned, whatever paper size was selected on the computer was recognized by the printer, regardless of the size set on the printer touch screen. With the 8125e, unless the two paper sizes are set the same, the printer notes a Paper Size Mismatch and won't print.

Hi  @dkdkdkdkdkd,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand your concern  especially since your previous HP printers worked the way you described.
The HP OfficeJet Pro 8125e is designed with a stricter paper size verification system to help prevent jams and misprints.

Here are a few suggestions you can try right away:

  1. Check Printer Settings: On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Tray and Paper Management and make sure the paper size matches what you’ve loaded.
  2. Driver Settings: On your computer, open the print dialog and confirm that the paper size selected matches the tray setting. Sometimes, updating the driver or HP Smart app helps synchronize these settings.
  3. Disable “Prompt on Mismatch”: In the printer’s settings menu, look for an option like Prompt when paper size mismatch and set it to Off. This often reduces interruptions.
  4. Firmware Update: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date with the help of the link : https://support.hp.com/ . HP releases updates that improve compatibility and fix issues like this.
  5. Custom Paper Size: If you’re using non-standard paper, try creating a custom paper size in your computer’s print settings and then select that same size on the printer.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
