thank you for helping-   Inside the printer it shows 8125e -  on the external sticker it references 8120e with a barcode.

I assume but do not know what the + means regarding the name of your product.

Serial number is th5a2qn0g5

Hi @MainMacMan,

Thank you for confirming the serial number .

This confrims that the unit that you are using Officejet Pro 8125e.

Kindly follow the below steps :
Follow the trade override procedure to initialize the printer with trade cartridges.

On the bottom left side of the printer control panel where the Return icon displays , touch the area four (4) times. During this step, the Return icon is not illuminated.

Touching bottom left side of printer control panel

Touch Support Menu.

Touch the right arrow three (3) times until the System Configuration menu displays, and then press OK.

Press OK in the TradeatOOBE mode screen.

Press OK until the screen reads Trade.

Press the red X four (4) times until the Home screen displays.

If the override is unsuccessful, follow these steps:

If all four SETUP cartridges were rejected, replace the printhead assembly (the replacement kit comes with a full set of SETUP cartridges).

If the message does not indicate all four cartridges, replace just the cartridges that have been rejected. Replace with SETUP cartridges.

I hope this helps.
