HP OfficeJet Pro 8133 All-in-One Printer

The printer control panel does not show anything. I can print from my computer without a problem, but the control panel on the printer itself is completely blank - although not dark.

What I have tried so far?

1. Printer reset.

2. Firmware update.

Is there anything else I can do or should I send the printer to service?

Hi @EranT,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

We understand that the control-panel display is illuminated but remains blank, while the printer continues to print normally from the computer.

Since you have already reset the printer and updated the firmware, please complete one more restart:

  1. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  2. If the printer does not turn off, disconnect the power cord.
  3. Wait for one minute.
  4. Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet.
  5. Turn on the printer and wait until it becomes idle.

Please also tilt the control panel to a different viewing angle and check whether anything appears on the display. The HP OfficeJet Pro 8133 uses a 2.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with an adjustable viewing angle.

You can follow the steps in this document: HP All-in-One Printers - Control panel screen blank, unresponsive, or unable to wake printer from sl...

If the display remains blank and the latest firmware is already installed, the control panel requires service. Please contact HP Support or take the printer to an HP Authorized Service Center for inspection. Repair charges might apply if the printer is outside its warranty period.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
