HP 8710 printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I download OJ8710_Basicx6440.12.1161.exe.  When I tried to install it I get the following message

I then clicked on Next and a Search for Solution screen appeared.  I clicked on Search HP online resources for solution and submit error report.  That brought up this screen.

When I click on Next, the screen disappears.

What do I need to do to install the driver?

I thought I could paste screen shots.  Wrong.

The first screen is

Install Failed.

The software required for your device could not be installed.

For more information click the Details button below.

The unsuccessful installation will be cleaned up, and then you will be guided through searching for and applying a solution to this issue.

When I clicked on the Details button I got this message

Installation Error

The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing the package.  This may indicate a problem with this package.

The error code is 2753.

The second screenshot was

Search for Solution

Submit an error report and search for a solution.

There is a box to click

Follow these steps:

1.  If you printer is connected with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from your printer.

2.  Click NEXT, and a troubleshooter titled Trhoubleshool HP Installation Failure - MSI will be placed on your computer desktop.

3.  After all installation screens have closed double-click the troubleshooter on your desktop and follow the steps to install your HP printer.

4. You may delete the troubleshooter from the desktop when you are finished using it.

When I click Next the screen disappears

The solution did not work.  I have the old driver completely removed.  The problem is the new driver will not install.

This might require remote access of your computer to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.
