HP 9010
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP 9010 Printer that will not shut off. I also need to reconnect it to the internet, no option to do that.

Because it is not connected to the internet (I assume) it will not let me use the HP instant Ink cartridges.

Is there someway to reset this 9010 so that I can set it up again?

Hi @clay37,

I'd like to help!

I understand that the printer screen is stuck on "Genuine HP printer cartridges installed"

Try the below suggestions-

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Ended up using a USB printer cable and accessed the printer with my laptop. In short, set up the router connection with the laptop.

The screen on the printer is stuck on genuine HP printer cartridges installed. I have to tell the 9010 to print/scan from my laptop, instead of pushing the button on the screen........

Jay, Thank You!

As soon as I clicked on the Genuine HP cartridges message on the HP Smart app it got rid of the message on the printer.

Also turned on automatic updates.

Thanks again.
