Product: HP 970CSE Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I've gone through the process of downloading the driver from HP website.  When I look at Printers in the control panel the printer show up and is selected.  When I try to print a page from Word, the printer accept the page, but does nothing for several minutes before returning an error message.  This printer worked fine with the old HP computer and I've succeeded in printing a test page at the printer itself.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

 

That printer model is more than 20 years!  Windows may have made changes that is not compatible with the printer for newer computers.

 

Perhaps it's time to get an updated model?

Getting a new printer is not a helpful suggestion.  This rates thumbs DOWN!  Not helpful.
