HP 9730 Printer and older operating system (Windows 7 and 8.1)

any suggestions as to installing a driver for the HP 9730 to a PC with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1?   they do not support the driver for this printer.  thank you, Neal

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Only for Win 8.1 32-bit!

Here's what you need to do:

1. The printer must not be connected. Neither via WiFi or WLAN or USB!
   WLAN and WiFi deactivated
   
2. Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list. 
3. Restart the PC
4. Close all programs
5. download only this complete package: HP Universal Scan - Full Feature Software and Driver 
6. Close all programs
7. Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the EXE,
   File name: Full_Webpack-51.10.6100-SJ0001_Full_Webpack.exe (411.2 MB)
   Via USB, means wait until the installation asks to connect the printer/scanner.
8. The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
9. Restart the System again
10. Now the installation is complete.

Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.

If the printer works with the USB connection, i.e. printing and scanning, another connection type can be used.

But test it first.

The connection type can be changed at any time.
