HP B110a printer properties in Office 2016.

The drop down selections are empty and the descriptors 'above' each field has strange symbols displayed instead of English?

Does anyone know how to fix this issue please?

It is a fresh install of windows 10/office/HP. It's been OK for a few days and now this has happened!

Please see pic.

The fault is only present with office 2016.

The printer properties are fine with other apps (e.g. adobe).

This is why I thought the fault would be with Office and not HP?

I run sfc with no faults.

I tried the office repair procedure with no improvements.

My system shows no virus or malware.

Thanks!

The suggestions in your link have already been followed and I have english/uk selected for the keyboard/region etc. UK English is the default langauge selected in office 2016. This problem is present in .txt files too! But not in non MS apps.

Many thanks!

Right ~ I gave up!!

I docked the laptop drive off my PC and wiped it clean.

Partition/format drive.

Put it back in laptop.

Installed windows 8

Upgraded to windows 10

Allowed all Microsoft updates.

Installed office 2016 with updates.

Installed HP full feature software for my printer (B110a) with updates.

Checked the printer properties dialogue pop up, and all was fine. Went to bed. Today the issue has reappeared yet again within 12 hours and  NO usage of the laptop has taken place! The problem is exactly the same as before. No virus/malware and I haven't been 'messing' with the registry either!

So, a full and complete clean reinstallation HASN'T worked either! So, there must be an issue/a bug/an incompatibility between MS & HP somewhere along the line?
