HP C410a display "stuck" at QUICK FORMS, will not return to Home Screen.  Will not respond to pushing "start copy" or any other buttons on the machine EXCEPT those used to browse and choose Quick Form options.

I HAVE turned off, disconnected power cord, and unplugged from wall multiple times....nothing!

I HAVE uninstalled and reinstalled....no change.

EVERYTHING was working fine until I installed HP Smart on my iPhone 7 even thoughh I have not used it.

Hi @CalCool1999,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are facing issues with your HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One Printer - C410a wherein it is stuck on the quick forms screen.

This issue could occur if the printer is in error state.

Let's go through a few steps that may help to fix this issue.

And here are a few steps in the link:

Please follow the step by step guide to reset the printer:

1. Disconnect the fax or USB cable and then turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

2.With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

3.Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

4.Wait at least 60 seconds.

5.Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

6.Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

7.Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
8.Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

You have a good day ahead.

Rainbow23, I appreciate your suggestion, and as I explained in my original post I ghad done this, BUT I did it again and no luck.  When the printer restarts after steps 1-8 the display says "There was a problem connecting to the server.  Press (back button) to connect again, or OK to exit.  Trying again brings the same message.  OK exits to the Quick Forms menu.  Though the message IMPLIES it's not connected to the wireless network (I really don't think what I have is a "network") it does print and scan (from HP Solutions screen) when something is sent from both the desktop and laptop computers ALL WIRELESS-ly.

Does that open any more answer doors?  I may just go and purchase another printer/scanner/copier (we use efax), we need to be able to copy more than anything else and we can't do that.

Sandytechy20 I will try this later today..... do I "reset the printer" AFTER I uninstall from the desktop of before?  The code the you sent, do I input this on the keypad on the front of the Photosmart Premium C410a?

Hello, @CalCool1999

Thanks for the update!

I see that you were working with @sandytechy20. He is out of office and I'd like to help 🙂

Yes, you need to perform the steps on the printer control panel. Uninstall the printer, try the reset steps and then reinstall the machine.

Let us know if that helps!

Cheers 🙂
