I have a used HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M553n printer that I purchased. It needed a new fuser (B5L35-67901), which I purchased and installed. But it still displays "Replace Fuser Kit" all the time. I tried to reset the fuser page count, but I cannot because under the ADMINISTRATION, MANAGE SUPPLIES, RESET SUPPLIES menu, there is NO NEW FUSER KIT option. I believe it is because there is a USER password/code that I cannot get pass. I have the Service code and removed the ADMINISTRATION code, but I cannot get pass the USER code. I believe that some of the ADMINISTRATION menu options (like NEW FUSER KIT) have been locked out by the USER. I have tried everything that I know of to remove this USER file/code. I tried COLD RESET, PARTIAL CLEAN, SECURE ERASE, FORMAT DISK to get rid of this USER file/password/code and nothing works. Help

Are you able to select the options you mention? Did the partial clean work or can you not even get to that point? It is possible that the previous owner has locked the formatter and if that is the case you may not be able to change anything.

I just checked one of my demo units, it has no menu for resetting the fuser. So either the fuser resets automatically when installed or it only shows up if it detects the fuser has been replaced. I cannot find any specific documentation in my service guides on this issue.

The fuser might have a fuse on it, so I will contact the company that rebuilt this fuser. But I still have the problem with deleting the current USER account information (password/code).
