I just got this printer today. Did the setup and used my password manager to generate a secure password. I know for sure the password is right but the device refuses to take it when I try to log into the web interface. I have no idea how to reset this. Any help would be appreciated.
I've tried the following as usernames and none of them worked.
- admin
- Admin
- administrator
- Administrator
- HP
- (blank)
Any attempts to access menus on the device require a password. I suspect the complexity of the password generated may have characters that are not supported - maybe this messed things up. If that's the case - is there any way I can factory reset the device?

So - after some deliberation I figured it out. The problem is my password manager generated a 20 character password but the printer supports only 16 characters maximum. After cutting off the extra characters the password was accepted.
If you happen to have a similar problem then hopefully this helps. Otherwise it may need a factory reset of some sort or maybe a firmware download.
Thus far only direct assistance from HP seems to provide this information. Videos on YouTube and instructions elsewhere suggest unplugging to drain power and then powering back on, but this doesn't remove the admin password.
Hopefully this helps someone.
