I am receiving the same "Resend Upgrade" error for my HP LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw. Can you send me the reset instructions or other information about how to fix this issue?

Thanks

Having the same issue, started right after upgrade 3 days ago. Can someone please share the solution or timeline for fix publicly ? I have tried hard reset. It seems to effect so many people, it has to be a priority for HP

I am having the same issue. Trying to re-install update does nothing.

Thanks for the info and link!

I was able to update to 20221010 using this and clear the issue.

You may want to try loading this again, possibly after power cycle or reset.

Thanks, I was able to update my firmware off your posted link. Issue resolved...and I have turned automatic updates to my printer off

Which link did you use? Can you send exact steps?

When I tried the Oct patch, I could see it loading and got the smiley face at the end but then the problem still persisted and the firmware date still showed April.

I used the link (I think you) posted earlier.

https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/FW_CPE_Consumer/M280_M281/M280_Series_FW_Update-202210...

I did notice that sometimes the updater would run but the printer would not display the "Programming" message on the screen.  The updater didn't seem to notice that the printer wasn't actually processing the update. It also didn't seem to notice if I had selected the wrong printer from the list in Windows.

You may try power cycling. One thing I read was to have the printer on and pull the wall plug for 1+ minutes, plug in, and power on.

You're a genius.  Your name should be "Applicable" instead!!

I did two things differently:

1. I turned off and on the Printer WiFi from the LCD. When I entered my WiFi password, I let it sit on that screen rather than going back to the "Resend Upgrade" screen.  I think the "Resend Upgrade" screen was not allowing it the firmware to instal.

2. I re-downloaded the patch using the link:

https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/FW_CPE_Consumer/M280_M281/M280_Series_FW_Update-202210...

And now I can print again! Hallelujah! Thank you!

PS. I'm going to turn off automatic updates now.
