The issue happened to me as well on October 31. I tried the update which bricked the upper roller.  I have been without this printer for over two months and i do need it which is why i bought it.  I posted to the Forum to get some updates, but we have not heard anything from HP.  if there is a solution can you make it available to those of us who need it.  If there is no update, can you tell us when to expect one?

I am getting a: "resend upgrade message" on my 281 Laserjet. your link does not work. Any heal will be appreciated.

Hello, I am getting a resend upgrade message on the printer screen since mid October. I tried your link, however, it is protected. Will you send me or publish a public link for all of us, please.

No response from HP, but they pulled the update that caused this mess. HP needs to make a statement soon.

StreekkD1, the update is no good.  It bricks the tops roller in the printer.  HP has not updated us on a plan since then despite several users on this thread opening support tickets.

Maybe time to start calling BBB? Or some other

I believe the resolve lies squarely in the laps of HP. All of us on these pages need to reach out individually to as many tech departments explaining our plight. when unresolved give them poor reviews until it reaches the correct persons. Poor reviews and bad publicity will get this fixed.

Lets contact from the expert page:

With 20+ years of experience supporting Laserjet and Designjet products and users I am familiar with the common issues that often crop up and can usually direct people to the resource that will solve their problem. Outside of "Printers" I enjoy photography, bicycles and guitars.
