I recently purchased a Color Laserjet M252dw. I am trying to connect my laptop to the printer via Wi-Fi Direct. I select the printer and put the password in. Everything connects but it then says "Driver is unavailable". I am unable to print anything. I am unable to find any drivers to use. Please help me...I'd like to be using this printer. Thank you!

Hello,

If you are unable to print with the Wi-Fi Direct feature, I suggest you connect your printer using the wireless network connection and install it with the full software and drivers on your computer.

Use the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer control panel display to set up wireless communication.

  1. On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon (), and then touch Wireless Menu.
  2. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard. The printer searches for available wireless networks.
  3. Touch the name of your network, and then follow the instructions on the control panel to connect the printer to your wireless network.
  4. Launch the printer installation with the HP Color LaserJet Pro M252 Printer series Full Software and PCL 6 Driver.

Unfortunately it is not allowing me to connect any other way than USB. I have downloaded what I think are drivers for this printer but it does not change anything. Do you have any other possible solutions for me? Thank you!

Please access the Wireless Printer Setup section.

Otherwise, please follow the instructions in the following HP document: Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection.

If necessary, please access the Wireless Printing from a Laptop, Phone, or Tablet section.

Hi, I am seeking to troubleshoot why I am unable to use the functionality of my printer. My printer will connect to my computer fine, it just won't download the drivers necessary to allow me to print. Would anyone be able to help me manually install the drivers into the correct folder and see if that helps?
