@BFong Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you are getting 0xe06d7363 error.
Try making a standalone copy in color and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
Install the printer using the TCP/IP port:
- On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Add a printer(at the top)
- Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
- Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
- Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless/ethernet icon on the printer screen
- Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
- Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
- Try printing in color.
If the issue persists, Install the printer using Windows built-in driver
Refer to this document to know-how. Try printing.

Hi Praveen, apology for the late reply. i tried the method as you outlined but is unable to print out the test print and it gave out an error.
I am using wireless from my laptop to connect to the printer. And its quite difficult to setup the printer as I need to connect the print cable to my laptop during the first setup otherwise it wont be able to detect the printer.... (this is another problem but I did manage to setup the printer.)
My problem of unable to access the Printer Prefrence (coz of the error) and unable to print in color still exist.

hi there, i have actually tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor before calling for assistance from HP. nevertheless i reinstall and uninstall a couple of time and each time use the HP Print and Scan Doctor and somehow my last reinstall works. MEaning I can now print in color however i am not able to customize it to either to print in black and white or color.
Under Printing Preferences - Paper/Quality tab there is supposed to be an Option to choose whether to print in Color or Black and White but right now there is no such option thus I can only print in Color as opposed to only able to print in Black previously

Did you uninstall the printer from the root level before installing the new printer?
If not, follow the below steps:-
Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
